BAY AREA COMMUNITY FOUNDATION NOW ACCEPTING GRANT APPLICATIONS

Applications for grants through the Bay Area Community Foundation are due October 1, 2010.  Non-profit 501(c)(3) organizations in Bay and Arenac Counties may apply for these grants.  If you wish to apply for a grant, please contact a program officer and submit a draft request by September 17, 2010.  Grant applications, guidelines, procedures and information on funding priorities, can be found by clicking here.

Arenac County Endowment Fund will accept grant applications for projects and programs which impact Arenac County.  For more information, contact Kristen Bovid, kristenb@bayfoundation.org.

· Community Initiative Fund (General Unrestricted) will accept grant applications from Bay County 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations.  Examples of past grant areas are but not limited to: arts and culture, education, environment, recreation, human services, and health and wellness.  In addition to traditional requests for new projects or programs, this fund will also accept requests for program sustainability funding for this grant cycle only.  For more information, visit www.bayfoundation.org and contact Kristen Bovid, kristenb@bayfoundation.org.

· Elizabeth Husband Fund will accept grant applications for organizations operating in Bay County who provide holiday season activities.  Examples of such as activities are but are not limited to: food baskets, clothing, and children’s toys.  The Bay Area Community Foundation will award up to $1,000 to each selected grant recipient.  For more information, contact Lisa Cleland, lisac@bayfoundation.org.

· Health Initiative Fund – Arenac County will accept grant applications for projects or programs that benefit the health and wellness of Arenac County residents.  For more information, contact Kristen Bovid, kristenb@bayfoundation.org.

· Health Initiative Fund – Bay County will accept grant applications for projects or programs that benefit the health and wellness of Bay County residents.  For more information, contact Kristen Bovid, kristenb@bayfoundation.org.

· Northern Bay County Endowment Fund will accept mini-grant applications up to $250 for projects and programs in Northern Bay County.  For more information, contact Lisa Cleland, lisac@bayfoundation.org.

Squires Foundation will accept grant applications for organizations with programs that benefit children and adults with cognitive or physical disabilities that reside in Bay County.  For more information, contact Lisa Cleland, lisac@bayfoundation.org.

Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) will accept grant applications to fund projects that directly benefit the youth (18 and under) of Bay County.  Previous grants were given to projects that improved youth’s quality of life through health, safety, education, and recreation.  Grant applications for 2010 are not limited to these categories.
