The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Regional Scholarship will be awarded each year to area high school seniors who are actively engaged in efforts to improve racial harmony and fulfill the promise of Dr. King's "Dream". The scholarship award(s) will be at least $1,000 and are nonrenewable. The scholarship award(s) will be presented at the Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration Program to be held in January
Scholarship applications must be postmarked no later than November 1st. There are two ways to apply for the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Regional Scholarship.

Each spring scholarships are awarded to students according to criteria established by donors who established funds to providing resources for college opportunities.
Scholarship awards range from $250 up to 75% of total college expenses and can only be applied toward tuition, fees, books and supplies. Applicants may be eligible for, and may receive more than one, scholarship award.
Scholarship applications will be accepted from December 1, 2007 through February 25, 2008.

The Bay Commitment was established in August 2007 by the Bay Area Community Foundation. It was inspired by the belief that having access to continuing education is an investment in our children - our future.
In May 2008, the Bay Area Community Foundation will award 100, $2,000 scholarships to 2007-2008 graduates of Bay City Public Schools' high schools. These scholarships will be for tuition to pursue an associate's degree at Delta College or a bachelor's degree at Saginaw Valley State University.
Scholarship Applications will be accepted December 1, 2007 - March 1, 2008
